Endowed Scholarship Paves Way to Transformative Fisher Experience

March 31, 2026

Fisher students now have the opportunity to benefit from a new scholarship named in honor of an impactful alumna through the generosity of her family. Jon M. Williams, a graduate of the Class of 1984, made a gift to support the Heather Ann Williams ’85 Endowed Scholarship in memory of his wife, Heather, a graduate of the Class of 1985.

Heather was known for her infectious laugh, zest for life, compassion, optimism, and her love for her family, friends, and community. She was a longtime supporter of the University, staying connected in various ways, along with Jon, after graduating and until her passing in 2023 at the age of 59.

A graduate of the communication/journalism program, Heather was the editor of a trade magazine for librarians published by the Library Binding Institute prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom and raising her four children. She served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Fisher until September 2021. In addition to her service to Fisher, she participated in numerous community boards, including the Bison Children’s Scholarship Fund, Buffalo AKG Art Gallery, and Oishei Children’s Hospital Foundation, where she was board president.

Jon, a management graduate, founded OSC Holdings Inc. (formerly Ontario Specialty Contracting Co) in 1997 and successfully grew the business with operating divisions across North America. The company specializes in environmental contracting, brownfield redevelopment, and heavy equipment leasing, sales, and support. In 2022, he stepped down as president but remains Board Chair and CEO.

Alongside OSC Holdings, Jon founded Viridi, a point-of-use renewable energy technology company that is revolutionizing the way energy is stored and used, leading the way to a zero-carbon energy future. Today, he serves as CEO and Board Chair of the company.

In 2014, Jon and Heather co-founded the OSC Charitable Foundation, and Heather became the executive director of the foundation. The foundation supports more than 100 community organizations, focusing on five areas: education, religion, health care, culture, and scientific research. It also addresses issues impacting the East Side of Buffalo, including employment, training, basic and life skills, and barriers to education and employment, such as childcare, mental health issues, and transportation. Grant recipients have included Back to Basics Ministries, BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund, Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Camp Good Days, Harrison’s Playmakers, Hospice Buffalo, John R. Oishei Women & Children’s Hospital, (recently re-named Golisano Women & Children’s Hospital), Timon High School, Bishop Ludden High School, None Like You, Back to Basics Ministry, Fisher, and a list of other organizations.
