Michael Curran Named Honorary Chair of 44th Teddi Dance for Love
Longtime supporter of Camp Good Days and local law enforcement Special Agent Michael Curran has been named the honorary chair of the St. John Fisher University 44th Teddi Dance for Love, an annual 24-hour dance marathon that benefits Camp Good Days.
The dance will be held from 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 through 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.
“It is a tremendous honor to be the honorary chair of the 44th annual Teddi Dance For Love. For almost half a century, this event has helped countless children, families, and adults impacted by cancer by raising millions of dollars. Thank you to Camp Good Days and St. John Fisher University for hosting the Teddi Dance for Love and for all their hard work,” said Curran.
Curran serves as Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) special agent assigned to ATF Headquarters. Previously, he was the resident agent in charge of the ATF Rochester Field Office, New York Field Division, and served in that capacity for six years. Curran began his ATF career in 1998 as a special agent in the Boston Field Division, Worcester Field Office. In 2010, he transferred to the Hartford Field Office in the Boston Field Division and worked as a special agent until his promotion to the resident agent in charge in 2019.
He has experience building law enforcement partnerships, having supervised the Rochester Violent Crime Task Force (VCTF) during his time as the resident agent in charge. This task force brought together local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to fight violent crime. He has also built strong partnerships with faith-based and community leaders during his career. Curran has participated in press conferences with partners and conducted one-on-one interviews with television and other media outlets to help facilitate understanding of the ATF mission.
He grew up on Long Island, NY and attended Westhampton Beach High School before receiving a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the State University of New York at Cortland.
The committee and Camp Good Days selected Curran, a longtime supporter of Camp, for his involvement in Project T.I.P.S. and the Project Exile Advisory Board. As honorary chair, he will help the Teddi Committee celebrate the week leading up to the dance during the Very Beary Brunch taking place on the Fisher campus on Friday, Jan. 30. He will also help kick-off the main event on Friday, Feb. 6, and encourage students as they dance for love.
“We are so honored to welcome Special Agent Michael Curran to serve as this year’s Honorary Chair. He is an inspiration to many, and we are so excited to work with him to make Teddi 44 the best one yet,” said Victoria Howard ’26, chair of the Teddi Committee.
