University Announces Commencement Student Speakers

April 6, 2026

The 72nd Commencement is just over a month away, and the University once again utilized a campus-wide student speaker nomination process for the five academic-based ceremonies taking place May 8 and 9. The process garnered 50 nominations.

Members of the class of 2026 seated in the shape of 2026 on campus at Fisher.

Nominees were reviewed by a 10-member selection committee comprised of divisional and School representatives. The selection committee conducted a blind review of each of the individual nominations as well as student interest forms submitted by the nominees interested in pursuing the opportunity. The student interest form asked for additional information about an impactful moment from the nominee’s Fisher experience, key topics that their speech would cover, and what it would mean to deliver a Commencement address to peers and in front of professors, friends, and family.
