The nomination-based award recognizes up-and-coming community bankers who demonstrate exceptional potential in leadership, innovation, and community work.

Wright earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fisher in 2017, and completed the MBA program in 2019.  He currently serves as vice president of accounting and information systems for The Upstate National Bank, a Rochester-based community bank.

Wright is also active in the Rochester community, serving on the board of The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as well as being involved with Project Management Institute’s Rochester chapter.

“This group of young professionals should give all of us a sense of pride and optimism as we look to the future of America’s community banks,” said Matt Kusilek, publisher, Independent Banker. “Now more than ever, this industry sees the value of the energy and ideas of people like our emerging leaders, who believe in the importance of the community banking model. We’re really pleased to be able to highlight their accomplishments so far and look forward to what they’ll do next.”

Wright, and his fellow 40 Under 40 class, are featured in the June 2019 print and digital issue of Independent Banker.
