For Jordyn Weller ’19, life after Fisher has been history in the making.

“Within the first two months of my job, I got to witness, work, and be part of the PGA,” says Weller, who serves as the communications coordinator for Oak Hill Country Club, which hosted the 2019 KitchenAid Senior PGA tour this summer. “It was an amazing experience. We broke attendance records! It was great to see how many people—adults and kids—came out to see the championship.”

A media management major at Fisher, Weller earned her start at Oak Hill in 2016 as a snack bar server and worked her way up at a place she says she has “grown to love as a second home.” Weller has served in several capacities at the historic golf course, including an internship supporting the Club’s marketing and communications efforts.

Today, she promotes the Club and its signature events, amenities, and, of course, golf tournaments. Weller creates promotional materials and produces Oak Hill’s monthly member newsletter, Quercus, as well as a bi-weekly employee newsletter.

Weller credits internship experiences and her participation in The PRIMA Group, the College’s student-run public relations integrated marketing advertising agency, with giving her experience in networking, a skill she uses daily at Oak Hill.

“I work with members and my co-workers constantly, so I'm glad I learned the art of networking,” she says. “Never underestimate the power of a good handshake and making a good first impression!”
