July 31, 2019

St. John Fisher College was named to Kiplinger’s “500 Best College Values for 2019” ranking, which recognizes colleges and universities for academic quality and affordability. Fisher was listed at No. 291 on the full ranking, and No. 98 among private universities.

According to an article published alongside the rankings, the colleges and universities included on the list meet Kiplinger’s “definition of value: a high quality education at an affordable price.”

The rankings are calculated based on a variety of factors, including total tuition costs, a comparison of average financial aid awards for first-year students and all undergraduates, admission rate and yield, retention rates, and four-year graduation rates, among others. The publication assesses nearly 1,200 public and private schools using Peterson’s Undergraduate Database.

“We are proud to be recognized by Kiplinger for our academic quality and affordability,” said Dr. Gerard J. Rooney, president of the College. “A Fisher education provides high impact opportunities for our students inside and outside of the classroom, and we remain committed to making a Fisher education accessible for students and their families. I am proud that our efforts have led to our inclusion on this list.”
