Sophomore Kyle Rollins cemented his legacy in St. John Fisher College track and field history when he won the high jump and became a national champion.

Rollins, who finished as the national runner-up in the high jump during the indoor season, became the fourth individual national champion and third from the track and field team in Fisher’s history as he joins Scott Harris, Jr. (2008 – men’s golf), Mark VanMarter (2018 - long jump), and Peter Girardi (2018 – 400m hurdles). The Groveland, New York native was also named an All-American for the fourth time in his career.

Junior Eddie Mahana earned runner-up status in the 110m hurdles, missing the title by the slimmest of margins, just .001 seconds. Mahana and the hurdler from Mount Union were neck and neck down the stretch as he took second overall in the race with a time of 14.367.

As a team, the Cardinals took a seventh place finish in the final standings with 21 total points.  Fisher’s seventh place showing, which was the best finish of any program in the Atlantic Region, tied its best finish ever at the National Championship after head coach Mike Henchen’s squad tied for seventh at the conclusion of the 2018 season.
