Collegium Magazine shares the stories of Fisher alumni encounters across the globe

Nancy Bragg and Dr. Tom Marsella on Easter Island

As someone who loves to travel, North Carolina resident Nancy Bragg ’87 immediately signed on when she learned of a local group planning a trip to Easter Island in October 2024. "Most came for the annular eclipse, but I've always wanted to explore the island; the eclipse provided the opportunity," said Bragg.

During her trip to the South Pacific, she began chatting with a fellow traveler. There, 5,242 miles and an ocean away from Rochester, the pair discovered they were both Fisher grads. Dr. Tom Marsella ’74 had made the trip from his home in San Francisco, where he is an emergency room doctor.

"What are the odds of that?" asked Nancy.

The trip was more eclipse-related for Tom, as this was his 28th time viewing the phenomenon.
