The Hamilton Stern Construction Endowed Scholarship, which supports students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, was created as part of the University’s comprehensive fundraising campaign, Fisher Forward.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2025, Hamilton Stern has grown into a full-service commercial construction management and general contracting firm that today employs nearly 70 people. The firm has played a meaningful role in shaping Fisher’s footprint through several projects, including Dugan Yard Player Development Center, a state-of-the-art indoor collegiate baseball facility which opened in 2024. Most recently, Hamilton Stern has led Fisher’s Lavery Library Modernization and Renovation Project, which is slated to be completed for a fall reopening of the library. At $42 million, it is the largest capital investment in the institution’s history that has reimagined the iconic campus building and expands its purpose to provide current and future students with coordinated services and resources.

“We are grateful to Hamilton Stern Construction for their dedication and care in leading the reimagining of an iconic campus building and this gift is one more reflection of their belief in higher education and the student experience,” said Dr. Gerard J. Rooney, president of the University. “The University is proud to have Hamilton Stern among our valued partners and philanthropic supporters.”

The gift is the latest initiative in Hamilton Stern’s newly created corporate-giving program, which aims to increase its investment in—and impact on—the Finger Lakes region.

“Hamilton Stern Construction has had the privilege to partner with St. John Fisher University on numerous projects to help shape the campus,” said Justin Hamilton, principal. “As we celebrate our 15th anniversary milestone, we reflect on the importance of giving back to our community through the creation of endowed scholarships. The University plays a vital role in our community by shaping future leaders, and we are deeply honored to support Fisher’s mission and invest in the academic success of its students.”
