August 29, 2025

The Center for Nonprofit Leadership at St. John Fisher University has opened enrollment for two courses aimed at helping nonprofit professionals strengthen their leadership and organizational skills.

Students in the Ed.D. Program discuss their work.

The Human Resources Management course equips nonprofit professionals with the knowledge to succeed in management positions within their organizations. The seven-session course provides a high-level overview of human resources areas including HR technology, talent acquisition and onboarding, total rewards compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, leadership development, coaching and performance management, and emerging trends and challenges for the nonprofit sector. Classes meet from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on alternating Thursdays throughout the fall (Sept. 11, Sept. 25, Oct. 9, Oct. 23, Nov. 6, Nov. 20, and Dec. 11) at Fisher.

The Leadership Communication Skills course helps nonprofits meet their communication needs. Across seven sessions, professionals will explore topics including understanding key audiences, crafting messages, media relations, storytelling, creating an elevator pitch, and more. Classes meet from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on alternating Thursdays (Sept. 18, Oct. 2, Oct. 16, Oct. 30, Nov. 13, Dec. 4, and Dec. 18) at Fisher.

Professionals can enroll in courses as a stand-alone experience, or as part of a more comprehensive path toward earning a Certificate in Nonprofit Management.

Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Register before Monday, Sept. 1, to receive an early bird discount.
