Research
Emma Greenspon is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department and the principal investigator of the Music, Voice & Cognition lab. Her work addresses sensory and motor processing involved in speech and song, with a focus on how we can perceive and produce vocal pitch. Recent projects have investigated the use of the inner voice (subvocalization) for storing and manipulating pitch in short-term memory. Other recent projects have addressed processes that support vocal emotion perception.
