Apply to be a Math Center Tutor
The Math Center is staffed by undergraduate peer tutors who have excelled in their classes and are ready to help others.
Rather than simply providing answers or solutions to homework problems, peer tutors model problem-solving strategies and explain course-specific concepts. Tutors may be majoring in any program.
The benefits of being a peer tutor include:
- Enhanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Increased knowledge of course content
- Flexible work hours
- Paid campus position
Selected applicants must enroll in a one-credit course, MATH 290 (Peer Tutoring in Math). This course explores the role and responsibilities of a peer tutor while offering insights into effective tutoring strategies through interactive discussion and role playing.
