Health Communication

Accurate and effective communication in the fields of science and medicine is crucial for public health and safety. Fisher's health communication minor prepares you to create professional, evidence-based strategic communication that promotes community health and wellbeing.

Program Overview

A minor in health communication will allow you to study epidemiology, public relations, and the intersection between science and communication practices. Electives will equip you with an understanding of public health through a journalistic lens with courses in video production, design, and social media. Health communicators are agents for change in helping communities develop science-based attitudes and behaviors to promote health and wellness. Designed for students in science, nursing, and psychology majors, the minor in health communication equips you to communicate strategically in health-related fields.

The 18-credit-hour minor in health communication gives students skills in digital communication and media production to promote healthy lifestyles.
