Psychology B.A. or B.S.
Fisher’s psychology program allows you to explore psychological principles to understand cognitive processes and apply the science of behavior to practical problems.
The psychology degree program emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of this scientific field, drawing on theories, concepts, and methods of inquiry from natural science and social science disciplines. Added Core requirements in the liberal arts give you a complete and well-rounded academic experience.
As a psychology major, you will be part of an active program that values collaborative research between faculty and students. Examples of past research projects include examining dog cognition, human-animal interactions, displays of human emotion, obesity and stigma, and group dynamics. You also have the opportunity to pursue independent research for course credit.
Psychology Program Overview
The psychology program at Fisher offers two undergraduate psychology degree options.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology
The B.A. path prepares you for advanced degree programs at the master’s level and higher. This path also provides ample flexibility if you want to combine your interests in psychology with studies in another area through a required minor.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology
The B.S. degree path emphasizes research experience, quantitative skills, and breadth of study in the subfields of psychology. You should choose this path if you plan to pursue a doctorate in psychology or a related field.

Graduates of the psychology program have found employment in several capacities, with a number of local and regional employers, including:
