On Saturday, Nov. 20, a team of Wegmans School of Pharmacy students, faculty, preceptors, and alumni served with His Branches Community Health Center, to provide a pediatric vaccine clinic.

His Branches is a non-profit community health center that serves the 19th Ward and Beechwood communities. The one-day clinic, held at the Arnett Boulevard location, provided vaccines to more than 20 children, ages 5-11, in addition to a handful of adults.

The School of Pharmacy team prepared doses, vaccinated patients, and provided valuable information to patients about the vaccine.  Justine Hoffman, the nurse manager at His Branches, noted her appreciation for the School team during an interview with News 8 about the clinic.

“We had a parent this morning on the fence about getting her kids vaccinated, she was able to talk to one of the great pharmacists here from St. John Fisher [College] who came and volunteered with us,” Hoffman told the reporter. “We know the science is solid and the vaccine is safe.”
