Panel Helps Businesses Build Resiliency

This week, the St. John Fisher University Family Business Program will host a panel discussion, “Resiliency in Family Business: Learning How to Identify Risk and Thrive after Loss.”

The event will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Wintergarden (1 Bausch and Lomb Place, Rochester, NY 14604). Tickets, which are available online, are $60 per person; purchase a table for eight and pay only $350.

The panel features prominent business leaders including Ken Glazer, chairman and CEO, Buckingham Properties; Lou DeMent, CEO, Giovanni Food Company; Ilean Flaum, family stakeholder, Flaum Management Co.; Marcye Bears, president, Bears Playgrounds; and John McClurg, owner, McClurg Auto Group—who will discuss their experiences and insight into developing strategies to overcome adversity. The panel will be moderated by Fisher faculty members Dr. Tim Franz, professor of psychology, and Dr. Özge Kantaş, assistant professor of psychology. Through the conversation, attendees will learn practical approaches that help family businesses prepare for the unexpected and emerge stronger.
