Fisher Celebrates First-Generation Students during National First-Generation Week

November 2, 2026

St. John Fisher University will celebrate first-generation students and alumni with a series of events the week of Monday, Nov. 2, in recognition of National First-Generation Week.

Today, 54 percent of all undergraduates in the United States - 8.2 million - are first-generation students. Since its beginnings, Fisher has demonstrated a commitment to serving students who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. First-Generation Week recognizes those students, providing avenues to celebrate their success and to share what their first-generation journey has meant to them.

Student Panel

Golisano Gateway Midlevel

Alumni World Café
