Students Connect, Learn, and Grow During Marketing Week
October 28, 2026
Hosted by St. John Fisher University’s American Marketing Association (AMA), the 2026 Marketing Week featured guest speakers, networking, and professional development opportunities for students.
Marketing week takes place each year on campus and is designed to offer students an opportunity to learn from industry experts, develop career-ready skills, and expand their network. Throughout the week, which took place Oct. 19-23, students attended presentations from industry professionals, participated in workshops, and expanded their connections through networking opportunities.
According to Jason Schiltz, president of the University’s AMA, the organization’s mission is to help students discover their interests and connect them with professionals.
“Our whole philosophy as a club is based on two things: helping people find their interests, whether it be marketing, sales, or a different career entirely; then helping to connect them with people who can guide that career path,” said Schiltz.
During the week, students had the opportunity to hear from industry professionals who Schiltz connected with during his time in AMA, including Jennie Politano, senior marketing program manager at Western Veterinary Partners, and Andy Almeter, creative director at Amazon.
“Watching as students were able to hear about the experiences and insights that these professionals have learned was truly rewarding,” Schiltz said.
Marketing Week also included professional development and networking opportunities, such as a résumé-building workshop, networking event co-hosted with the Public Relations Integrated Marketing & Advertising (PRIMA) club, and the AMA Regional Conference. These events allowed students to strengthen their professional skills and build connections.
For Jack Tamburino, a senior marketing major, being a part of AMA has been one of the most influential experiences in his college career. He says AMA has allowed him the opportunity to learn, network, and gain professional experience.
“I got an internship in the spring that was paid and also counted for an elective credit and the only way I got in contact with the company was because I heard about it through AMA,” said Tamburino. “The opportunities are endless, and I personally would recommend it to anyone!”
By bringing together students, alumni, and industry professionals, Marketing Week emphasizes AMA’s commitment to helping students grow personally and professionally.
“We are a very relaxed and fun club,” explained Schiltz. “In AMA, we care about each person in the room, and nobody gets left behind.”
