Cardinal Awards Celebrate an “Un-Bee-Lievable” Year at Fisher

April 11, 2022

On Sunday, April 10, the Student Government Association (SGA) hosted the annual Cardinal Awards, a chance to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of campus leaders and student organizations at St. John Fisher College.

The 2021-2022 SGA Executive Board with Advisor Amanda Metzger.

The event also featured a “State of the Student Body” address by outgoing SGA President, Michael Lilholt, who shared stories of student success along the themes of re-engagement, revitalization, and resilience amid the challenges of the pandemic.  Over the past two years, SGA has ratified its binding bylaws to update procedures, re-aligned Senate seats with those that best fit the growth of the College, passed major academic legislation, supported the expansion and progress of numerous clubs, crafted a Community of Belonging Committee, and have made more efforts toward being visible and accessible to students, he said.

“The legacy of change we have created is one that has been imbued in the spirit that together, as students, we have the ability and responsibility to ensure the success of our clubs,” he said.
