March 24, 2022

The newly established Bill ’76 and Ivette Shaheen Endowed Family Scholarship will ensure access for the next generation of students pursuing an education at St. John Fisher College.

Alumnus Bill Shaheen and his wife, Ivette, created the scholarship program in support of their belief in the importance of higher education in building a foundation for lifelong success. A graduate of the School of Business, he credits his Fisher education with preparing well for life after college.

“Without the Fisher accounting program, I would not have been successful in my career. It allowed me to grow and flourish into the professional I became,” Mr. Shaheen said.

The Shaheen’s $100,000 gift establishes an endowed fund to support scholarships for students facing financial need.

“We are grateful to the Shaheens for their belief in our students. Endowed scholarships provide access to students who will most benefit from a Fisher education and achieve their educational aspirations,” said Dr. Gerard J. Rooney, president of the College.
