Now in its 20th year, the Board Leadership Seminar is a seven-session program designed to make boards a partner and asset in enhancing organizational performance.

The Board Leadership Seminar is appropriate for board chairs, chairs-elect, or vice chairs expected to step into the chair role. Over an 11-week period, a small cohort of participants will explore key governance topics with subject matter experts and their peers. The syllabus has been carefully designed to provide the knowledge and tools that will help participants lead boards more effectively. The seminars will meet in-person for seven morning sessions held between Wednesday, March 6 and Wednesday, May 22. The topics covered include building an effective board, the board chair and CEO partnership, creating and sustaining a diverse board, legal topics and common issues, financial literacy and the roles of the finance and audit committees, and building a vision and work plan for board leadership.

The cost of the program is $125 per participant. To apply or nominate a participant for the seminar, submit an online form by Thursday, Feb. 15. Selected participants will be notified the week of Monday, Feb. 19 and payment arrangements will be made after that time. Additional logistical information on parking and meeting room location will be provided after cohort selection.
