A Day of Service for Fisher Pharmacists Nationwide
On Wednesday, April 1, more than 200 students, faculty, and staff from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy engaged in volunteerism at sites throughout the country during the annual Service Day.
Teams of P1-P3 students from the campus pathway served seven service sites in the Greater Rochester region, while the online pathway students — who span across 31 states — served at organizations meaningful to them in their own communities.
Locally, the School partnered with CP Rochester, World Relief, Sisters of St. Joseph, Equicenter, Habitat for Humanity, Hindu Temple of Rochester, and His Branches. Tasks ranged from plant pot painting to office space painting, yard cleanup and window washing to house rehab and construction, and assembling furniture to organizing supplies.
Service activities among P1-P3 online pathway students included making food bags for homeless shelters, cleaning living spaces for animals at the Humane Society, assisting and helping with the setup of a CPR class for junior volunteers, and more.
