Countdown to Commencement 2026: Andrew Beyler

March 23, 2026

This week’s “Countdown to Commencement” video features Andrew Beyler, an inclusive childhood education and history major nominated by Kristen Driskill, associate professor of inclusive education.

Beyler’s Fisher story began long before he enrolled. He first visited campus as a high school freshman and immediately felt a connection, drawn to the sense of community, the role faith played in campus life, and Fisher’s commitment to supporting students on their academic and personal journeys. A memorable U.S. history teacher, also a Fisher graduate, further inspired him to follow a similar path.

Beyler went above and beyond during his time here, completing four clinical placements before student teaching to earn his middle school extension. He credits Fisher with giving him the confidence, experience, and preparation to feel comfortable in the classroom.

As a first-year student, he joined the Teacher Education Student Association (TESA) and now serves as vice president. He has also been deeply involved with Teddi Dance for Love, an experience that expanded his network and strengthened his ability to understand and respond to the diverse needs of others.

“Fisher has had a big impact on me, preparing me to interact with a diverse range of people,” Beyler shared. “Students, parents, even colleagues, interacting with a diverse range of peers as well.”

Junior year, Beyler joined the Student Government Association, first representing the School of Arts and Sciences as the humanities senator, an ideal fit for a history major, and now serving as the School of Education senator.

Driskill praises Beyler for the qualities that define his time at Fisher. “Andrew’s legacy is marked by his compassion and scholarship, and by the lasting impact he has made through his work within the community.”
