St. John Fisher University to Host 15th Annual GENIUS Olympiad

St. John Fisher University has been chosen as host for the GENIUS Olympiad, an internationally recognized competition that promotes global understanding of environmental issues. The Olympiad, scheduled for Monday, June 8 - Saturday, June 13, brings together high school students from around the world to present projects focused on environmental challenges across multiple disciplines.
Founded and organized by Terra Science and Education, the GENIUS Olympiad is a global platform that empowers young students through competition that emphasizes creativity, sustainability, and global citizenship, aligning with Fisher’s commitment to educating students who lead with purpose and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The Olympiad has grown significantly in scale and impact through the years, drawing thousands of project submissions annually from students worldwide. This year’s competition expects 1,370 participants from 79 countries and 37 states.
This year marks an exciting new chapter as the GENIUS Olympiad transitions to its new home at Fisher.
“We are excited to begin this new partnership with St. John Fisher University as the host of GENIUS Olympiad,” said Dr. Fehmi Damkaci, Director of GENIUS Olympiad. “Their welcoming campus, excellent facilities, and commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment make St. John Fisher an ideal place for students from around the world to come together, share their work, and experience the spirit of global collaboration that GENIUS Olympiad represents.”
Throughout the multi‑day event, participants will present their projects, attend workshops, engage in cultural exchange, and connect with peers. They live, learn, and work together on campus, experiencing Fisher’s state-of-the-art academic facilities, and top-rated residence halls and campus food. Participants receive certificates, and the highest‑ranking projects are honored with gold, silver, or bronze medals, along with scholarship opportunities for select winners.
