Summer Fellows Research Program
Fisher’s Summer Fellows Research Program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to engage in faculty-mentored research in a variety of disciplines and multidisciplinary collaborations and has been a catalyst for some students’ research careers.
Applications for the 2026 Summer Fellows Research Program are open now through March 23, 2026.
This competitive program affords students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a full 10-week program beginning June 1 and running through August 9. Summer Fellows engage in an intensive research experience mentored by a full-time Fisher faculty member. At the end of the program, student-faculty teams share their findings with peers and the Fisher community in a poster session. Students will often share their research more broadly at regional and national conferences.
The program is open to current rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who will be continuing their studies as a full-time Fisher student in the fall 2026 semester and in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or higher). Students have access to on-campus housing, and tuition waivers or a summer stipend of up to $5,600 are also available. In addition, participants can request up to $450 for research supplies or project-related expenses.
Interested students can find more details about the application process on the Summer Fellows Research page and will need to complete the program application, submit information about their intended research, submit a personal statement, and request a statement of support from a professor or current academic advisor.
Dr. Kristin Picardo, assistant provost, Office of Sponsored Programs and director of the Center for Student Research and Creative Work will host an information session for students interested in learning more on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Basil 211. For questions, contact Dr. Picardo at kpicardo@sjf.edu.
