Fisher Dining Services Named Chartwells’ Account of the Year

This summer, Fisher Dining Services was given the Chartwells President’s Circle Award for Account of the Year, and Chef Joel Kraft was given the Chartwells President’s Circle Award for Living the Brand.

Chartwells Higher Education is the University’s campus dining partner. Fisher Dining Services was chosen among Chartwells’ four divisions of more than 300 schools for its excellent culinary program.

Fisher Dining Services has 113 associates, managers, supervisors, and student workers. They are recognized as the top dining program in New York on Niche.com and have held that honor for the last four years, in addition to being No. 6 in the country for the last three years. They deliver fresh food with service to match and their entire team is engaged in the campus community, knowing students by name and delivering one of the best pre-shift experiences in the country. At a recent meeting on campus, Andrea Maccarone, director of dining services, said that she truly believes that the success of the program at Fisher is rooted in the partnership that the University has with Chartwells and the impact of its leaders on campus.

Kraft is the senior executive chef, leading his sous chefs and cooks to ensure all menus are cooked from scratch, created seasonally, and sourced responsibly. Kraft works very closely with local vendors to include more sustainable menu items on campus.  He has developed concepts for corporate, such as Wild Pie, Chaat House, Sweet Home Café, and more.  In addition, he worked closely with Regional Chef Keith to create the “Root for You” event and assists with special projects in the region.
