Campus Enhancements Continue Through Summer Months

July 11, 2023

Though summer is traditionally considered a quieter time on most college campuses, at Fisher, it is a time to move forward with campus enhancements – both on the exterior and interior of various campus spaces. From academics to athletics, roofing to flooring, and everything in between, students will return in less than two months to some completed and ongoing projects.

Arts Center at Murphy Hall
Once complete, the newly renovated Arts Center at Murphy Hall – will include a black box theater (located in the former Coleman Chapel), dance studio, visual arts studio, and music practice rooms. The new highly flexible, black box theater will allow theater, dance, and music student groups to perform for both campus-based and community audiences in a setting that allows for innovative and creatively rich artistic performances. Already renovated and open, the dance studio, visual arts studio, and music practice rooms afford students interested in the arts an enhanced experience and a space to call home.

Wegmans School of Nursing Classroom Renovation
The highly anticipated immersive 3D learning technology classroom will be designed to enhance students’ understanding of the social determinants of health for vulnerable populations. The classroom will provide a controlled, augmented reality in which students will experience treating a “patient” in environments where different conditions may affect their health, functioning, and quality of life. The renovated space will feature modular, flexible furniture, as well as virtual reality and augmented reality technology to create interactive learning experiences for students in their junior and senior-level nursing courses.
