09/07/2020 - This week, Fisher faculty have organized a teach-in as part of the national Scholar Strike movement designed to educate and encourage dialogue surrounding issues of police violence and racism.
02/20/2020 - A new art installation in Pioch Hall highlights recent efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive environment on campus. The project consists of a series of flag-inspired panels representing inclusion, patriotism, and compassion in the context of the many intersectional communities at Fisher. This creative undertaking is just one result of ongoing interdepartmental diversity and inclusion work at the College.
01/07/2020 - For the tenth year, the Office of Multicultural Affairs is organizing its Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hospitality Drive to benefit local charities in the Rochester community.
12/06/2019 - For over 20 years, incoming first-year students have signed the Fisher Creed as part of the annual Matriculation Ceremony, officially marking the end of their Orientation and the beginning of their student journey. But this fall, throughout the final week of classes, first-year students participated in new Creed signing ceremonies while also reflecting on what they have learned in their first semester at Fisher.
11/21/2019 - On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Office of Multicultural Affairs will team up with clubs across campus and local community organizations to host St. John Fisher College’s annual Day of Celebration.
11/13/2019 - This fall, St. John Fisher College students participated in the East Avenue Grocery Run, an annual 5K run and walk that supports local organizations who address food insecurity in the community. Fisher students ran to support the College’s Food Pantry, a place where members of the College community facing food insecurity have access to food, free of charge.
11/08/2019 - Talking about issues of race, equity, and privilege can be hard and uncomfortable. A new event designed by the Student Government Association is hoping to change that by giving students, faculty, and staff the rare opportunity to walk in the footsteps of a fellow Cardinal.
09/17/2019 - Over the summer, a group of Fisher students and staff from the Office of Campus Ministry attended the Interfaith Leadership Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
05/09/2019 - The Institute for Civic and Community Engagement at St. John Fisher College will create a new community engagement Orientation for first-year students thanks to a $15,000 grant from the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation.
04/29/2019 - A ceremony held on Friday, April 26, celebrated and recognized St. John Fisher College’s campus-wide commitment to community engagement and service-learning.
