01/20/2022 - This semester, the Department of Religious Studies, the Office of Campus Ministry, and Senior Diversity Officer Dr. Marlowe Washington are collaborating to host a book club that explores the intersection of religion and racism.

That’s the message St. John Fisher College students took from Fresh Check Day, which brought more than 150 students to LeChase Commons to reflect on their mental health and wellness and to learn more about the campus resources available to them.

10/29/2021 - On Monday, Nov. 8, St. John Fisher College will celebrate all first-generation students, faculty, staff, and alumni during a First-Gen Day reception in the Golisano Gateway Midlevel at 4:30 p.m. Attendees will hear from first-generation students from the campus community, including President Rooney, who will share what their journey as a first-generation student has meant for them.

10/29/2021 - A twice-monthly peer support group on campus is designed to help students address their mental health issues with the assistance of peers and professionals. A cross-campus collaboration, the sessions are organized by Dr. Chris Noel, visiting associate professor in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, and facilitated by two graduate students in the mental health counseling program in the Wegmans School of Nursing.

10/19/2021 - On Wednesday, Oct. 13, members of the campus community gathered for the kick-off of a monthly speaker series called Cardinal Conversations. Approximately 40-50 students and another 10-15 faculty, staff, and community members were in attendance.

08/06/2021 - Gabe Iturbides, director of TRIO Student Support Services at Fisher, was elected to the Board of Directors for the Association for Equality and Excellence in Education (AEEE) as one of three general board members.
