St. John Fisher University has been ranked No. 22 among the 2027 Regional Universities by U.S. News & World Report.
The 2027 edition of the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings evaluates more than 1,700 U.S. colleges and universities, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success.

In the last year alone, the University has built on a period of significant achievement, marked by major investments in facilities, national recognition for academic programs, impactful faculty and student research, and expanded athletic opportunities. In fall 2025, Fisher completed the $40 million renovation and modernization of Lavery Library, the largest capital project in both scope and investment in the institution’s history. In addition, Fisher earned national recognition for nursing, business, pharmacy, and online graduate programs; secured reaccreditation for several programs; and launched women’s flag football as its newest intercollegiate varsity sport. Fisher students and faculty also continued to showcase research at myriad national conferences, and the University launched new undergraduate bachelor’s degree programs and an AI minor. These achievements, coupled with the successful completion of the University’s record-setting Fisher Forward $139 million fundraising campaign, underscore Fisher’s continued growth, innovation, and impact.
