Residency Bound! More than a Third of 2022 Pharmacy Graduates Head to Programs Nationwide

An impressive percentage of graduates from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy Class of 2022 were selected to engage in year-long residencies continuing the School’s long-standing tradition of success in matching students to post-graduate experiences. In the last seven years, the percentage of each graduating class to match with a program has remained steady, jumping from 15 percent in 2015 to 27 percent in 2021and 35 percent in 2022.

“We are extremely proud our graduates for earning these competitive placements,” said Dr. Christine Birnie, dean of the School. “We know that these graduates will take the knowledge they have gained at the School and in their rotations to positively impact the profession not only in our region, but throughout the country.”

In the Class of 2022, more than a third of the class will participate in Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) residencies, training in medical centers, community pharmacies, and health centers around the nation. This year’s PGY-1 residency-bound graduates include:
