Fisher Pharmacists Connect with President of National Community Pharmacists Association
The Wegmans School of Pharmacy student chapter of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) recently hosted Dr. Kristin Riddle, national president of the NCPA, on campus to speak with students about community pharmacy, leadership, and the future of the profession.
Students from the campus pathway and the online pathway joined Riddle to learn more about her journey as a second-generation independent pharmacist, as well as the innovative patient care services she provides at American Home Pharmacy.
Dr. Kristen Riddle, Pharm.D., is a graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy. She and her husband, Jeremy, are the co-owners of American Home Pharmacy in Clinton, Arkansas, where she provides innovative patient care services including wellness testing, vaccinations, and medication management.
Dr. Riddle is also a former president of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, was named the 2024 Arkansas Pharmacist of the Year, and is a delegate to the United States Pharmacopeia.
Among attendees was Sandra Fenelon, president of the NCPA student chapter, who helped bring this event to life.
“As I prepare to enter my fourth year, hearing Dr. Riddle speak reinforced that community pharmacy can be as innovative and patient-centered as you make it,” shared Fenelon. “It was valuable to see how services like vaccinations, wellness testing, and medication management can expand the pharmacist’s role in a meaningful way.”
Fenelon added that hearing from Riddle helped her think about how she can grow in her own career beyond her future practice sites and take on roles that influence the direction of the profession.
“The most valuable part was being able to bring this experience to our student chapter and connect members with a national leader. It made the profession feel more accessible and reinforced the importance of staying engaged in organizations like NCPA as we transition into practice,” Fenelon said.
