This discussion brings together Joy Hogan, MSN, PPCNP-BC, visiting assistant professor at St. John Fisher University; Caitlyn Moore, DNP, MS, CRNP, AGACNP-BC, ACHPN, assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University; and Ruth Benjamin, RN, GERO-BC, CDDN, CRRN, CHP, RN consultant, all of whom have expertise and experience caring for IDD patients.
Panelists will explore:
Supporting comfort, communication, and shared decision‑making
Partnering with individuals, families, and chosen supporters
Coordinating care across settings while honoring autonomy, values, and dignity
The one-hour event has been approved for 1.0 contact hour of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and will challenge assumptions, elevate practice, and center dignity around end-of-life care for people with IDD.
