Another Record Year: 2023 Marks Highest Post-Graduate Residency Rate for Pharmacy

June 14, 2023

It was another record year for graduates of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy Class of 2023 seeking a post-graduate residency as 37 percent of graduates were selected for year-long residencies – the highest rate for any graduating class of the School of Pharmacy. Since 2015, the residency rates have continued momentum, more than doubling in just eight years.

According to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) website, the School also had a 92% residency match rate in 2023, noting that 92% of students who applied for residencies matched with a program.

“We are extremely proud of our graduates securing residencies both around the nation, and here in the upstate New York region,” said Dr. Christine Birnie, dean of the School. “This high achievement is a credit to the students’ academic and professional achievement pursuing the next step in their professional training.”
