#Fisher2026: From Intern to International Tax Associate
July 14, 2026
Jason Weng walked the stage in May knowing where he was headed shortly after graduating from Fisher, a full-time role as an international tax associate at KPMG’s Philadelphia office.
In his role, Weng will work alongside other tax professionals to help multinational companies navigate complex tax regulations. His focus will include minimizing tax liabilities, advising on mergers and acquisitions, structuring tax-efficient expansions, preparing and reviewing international tax returns, and conducting specialized tax research.
“Fisher prepared me well in both academic and professional settings. The professors are incredibly dedicated and share important knowledge that directly applies to the field,” he said. “Beyond the coursework, the faculty and staff emphasize the importance of networking and professional ethics, which are two of the most valuable lessons I took away from my time there.”
Weng was a First-Generation Scholar, participating in community service, and a student-athlete on the track and field team, serving as team captain for two years. He was also a resident assistant, on the executive board of the Asian Student Union, and involved with the Student Government Association, Beta Gamma Sigma, the Dean’s Advisory Board in the School of Business, and the Accounting Club.
“Choosing Fisher was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The social connections and learning opportunities went far beyond what I ever imagined. I wouldn’t change a single thing about my college career.”
While he enjoys the unpredictability of the future and seeing where life will take him, Weng is confident that in five years he will be in the right place for his career and personal growth.
