Education Doctorate in Executive Leadership (Ed.D.)
Develop critical leadership skills in P-12 and higher education, health care, business, non-profit and other industries through Fisher’s Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership program.
This unique, challenging, and rigorous educational experience prepares you for your role as a leader committed to improving environments, opportunities, and outcomes for the organization you lead. As a student in this program, you will develop the critical leadership skills and knowledge that are required in today's increasingly complex, diverse, and information-driven organizations.

- Twenty-eight months to completion, which includes writing and defending your dissertation
Program Overview
The program's accelerated, cohort model draws on the best practices from a range of disciplines. Your focus will be on relevant and current topics and issues in executive leadership.
The program's curriculum includes 20 courses totaling 60 credits. Courses focus on core leadership competencies and dispositions, with regard to topics such as finances, resource development, public relations techniques, shared governance, diversity, and more.
Applied research and field experiences also factor into the program's curriculum. Finally, you will take advantage of a three-part guided seminar, where faculty and chairs will help you see your doctoral dissertation to its successful completion.
Ed.D. Extension Sites
Fisher's Ed.D. in Executive Leadership program is also offered outside of the Rochester area, affording executives and managers in other parts of New York state the opportunity to earn a Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership degree.
Please keep in mind that Ed.D. candidates at extension sites are required to take one course on Fisher's campus. This course is typically completed in one block session (i.e., Monday – Thursday). Transportation and accommodations are provided.
