St. John Fisher University Wegmans School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and recognized by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

Mental Health Counseling
The M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program is designed so that, upon completion, it will meet the requirements for licensure in New York State and all other states in the United States.
Undergraduate Nursing
The undergraduate nursing programs at St. John Fisher University are registered by the New York State Education Department; therefore, they meet the educational requirements for licensure/certification for New York State.
Through good faith effort, and for the purpose of complying with federal regulations, we have determined that our undergraduate nursing program at St. John Fisher University also meets the educational requirements for licensure/certification in all other states in the United States.
Graduate-Level Nursing
Per CCNE guidelines, the graduate-level courses address advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) care content specific to the role and population focus of the program. St. John Fisher University has designed our programs’ curriculum so that, upon completion, students will be qualified for licensure in New York State. Licensure requirements are subject to change and may differ based on individual student backgrounds, including coursework taken outside the scope of the program.

Outside of New York State, other states may have additional requirements for licensure. Through a good faith effort, and for the purpose of complying with the federal regulation, this information provides a baseline determination of whether the program meets individual, state-specific requirements.
