02/07/2020 - According to a 2019 student survey conducted by the Center for Career and Academic Planning, the top barriers to doing internships for Fisher students were wages (citing that they needed to work instead of doing an unpaid internship), transportation issues, and heavy course load. Enter Fisher’s new Career Accelerator Award.

Freshmen, Seniors Asked to Participate in Student Engagement Survey National Survey of Student Engagement Logo

02/07/2020 - St. John Fisher College is participating in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). The survey launches on Monday, Feb. 10, and will remain open until Monday, March 16. Freshmen and seniors are encouraged to participate, and members of both classes received the survey via email. The survey can also be accessed through Blackboard.

Sarachan Wins Award at Shmoovies Film Festival Jeremy Sarachan

02/06/2020 - Jeremy Sarachan, chair of the St. John Fisher College Department of Media and Communication, recently won the Audience Favorite Award for his film, “Active Voices,” during the Shmoovies Film Festival, held at The Cinema in Rochester, New York in January.

Workshop Teaches Students Communication through Movement Students attended a movement workshop led by Darren Stevenson.

02/05/2020 - Students from two courses in the Department of Media and Communication classes attended a movement workshop led by Darren Stevenson, artistic director and CEO of Push Physical Theatre, a local performance company that uses the physical movement of the body to tell a story and convey emotion.

Sophomore Selected for Karyl Mammano Scholarship Alyssa Gara

02/04/2020 - Alyssa Gara, a St. John Fisher College student majoring in corporate finance and accounting, was recently selected for the Karyl Mammano Scholarship.

With the Hornets, Student Learns to Be Unique, Be Different, and Make it Fun Anthony Loussedes high-fives the Charlotte Hornet during his internship.

02/03/2020 - Anthony Loussedes ’19 engaged in an internship with the Charlotte Hornets this fall, seeing it as an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a professional sporting event.

St. John Fisher College Joins Monroe County Court Effort to Support Divorcing Parents Wegmans School of Nursing administrators with judges from Monroe County who led the development of the A.C.T. program.

02/03/2020 - The Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher College has assumed administration of a program designed to help parents support their children through divorce and custody proceedings.

02/02/2020 - Emily Risch, marketing major, is this week’s featured senior in our Countdown to Commencement series. She was nominated by Lori Hollenbeck, assistant dean in the School of Business and program chair of the MBA program.

01/30/2020 - Three St. John Fisher College students were chosen to attend the annual Catholic Social Ministry Gathering, “Bearing Witness: Life and Justice for All,” held January 25-28 in Washington, DC.
