04/09/2019 - Professor Jeremy Sarachan, chair of the Department of Media and Communication and director of the interactive media program, edited an open source, online book, Coding Pedagogy. The book was designed and coded by senior Sean O'Leary.
04/08/2019 - Two professors at St. John Fisher College, Dr. Marta Rodríguez-Galán and Dr. Jonathan Millen, will offer a look at their “Bridges Across Generations” project as a part of the First Friday Lecture Series, which begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3, in Cleary Family Auditorium.
04/08/2019 - The Women and Gender Studies spring event brought nationally recognized poets Siaara Freeman and Rachel Wiley before a packed audience on March 20 for an unforgettable reading on black queer embodiment.
04/05/2019 - The Research Writing essay is a fixture of the first-year student experience at Fisher. Research Writing 199 is taken in the spring of the freshman year, after the Learning Community, and serves as the foundation of the core courses and an important place that students develop their skills in college-level research, analysis, and writing.
04/01/2019 - The St. John Fisher College Master of Public Health program will host a community conversation about the future role and potential of emerging health information technology as a critical resource for addressing patterns of basic health needs for both local and global populations. The event runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, in the Skalny Welcome Center Board Room.
03/29/2019 - More than 1,000 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral candidates will graduate from St. John Fisher College during its 65th Commencement on Saturday, May 11. Before they cross the stage to receive their diplomas, the College will honor three individuals for their lifetime commitment to advocacy on behalf of the Rochester community.
03/29/2019 - Last weekend marked the sixth annual Gilda’s Cup, an improv comedy competition that raises funds for Gilda’s Club of Rochester. The PRIMA Group, Fisher’s student-run, full-service advertising agency, spends two semesters working with Gilda’s House to prepare.
03/27/2019 - A member of the Irish parliament told an audience at the St. Thomas More Dinner and Lecture at St. John Fisher College that the ethical purpose of politics is to work at improving the life of all people.
03/25/2019 - Four members of the St. John Fisher College community will participate in the Council of Independent College’s 2019 Diversity, Civility, and the Liberal Arts Institute. Fisher joins a list of 25 colleges and universities from across the country in participating in the Institute.
03/25/2019 - Fisher was the last school Ali Dedicke visited in her college search, and like most students, she says she fell in love with the campus and the people during that visit and knew it was the school for her. The psychology major is our next featured senior in the 2019 Countdown to Commencement series, and she was nominated by Matt Berry, assistant director of freshman admissions.
