10/12/2020 - Senior Jacob Vinch, economics major with minors in mathematics and finance, spent his summer conducting research with Dr. Ben Niu, associate professor in the Economics Department, examining the factors that influenced the decisions to enact the state-wide stay-at-home orders as a response to COVID-19.
10/08/2020 - This fall’s Cavanaugh Reading Series, hosted by the St. John Fisher College English Department, will feature author Sejal Shah.
10/06/2020 - The PRIMA Group, St. John Fisher College’s student-run integrated advertising, public relations, and marketing firm, will host a panel discussion on diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
10/05/2020 - This summer, Emma Cottrell, a psychology major with minors in chemistry and biology, researched the racial disparities of COVID-19 through the lens of the social determinants of health.
09/28/2020 - St. John Fisher College will create a new student support program for underrepresented minority or economically disadvantaged undergraduates studying STEM fields, thanks to a $400,000 grant from the New York State Education Department’s Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP).
09/25/2020 - St. John Fisher College graduate Miguel A. Meléndez, Jr. ’08 was recently selected to serve as a Councilmember at Large on the Rochester City Council, filling a seat vacated in August. During a special session on Thursday, Sept. 24, he was formally named to the position and took his Oath of Office. He will serve until December 31, 2021, which coincides with the term for that seat.
09/24/2020 - According to the Campus Vote Project, “young adults (ages 18-29) made up about 21 percent of the voting eligible population in 2014, but voter turnout for this demographic has reached record lows in recent years.”
09/17/2020 - The 2020 St. John Fisher College Student Film Festival will once again run as part of Rochester’s annual Fringe Festival.
09/14/2020 - For the tenth year in a row, St. John Fisher College has earned a place on the U.S. News & World Report’s annual “America’s Best Colleges” feature.
09/11/2020 - For 10 weeks this summer, St. John Fisher College student Riley Moscicki engaged in the NextGen Leadership Program hosted by WPP, an international advertising and marketing services group.
