Health Insurance Information

All students who pay Fisher's comprehensive fee are eligible to use the services of the Health and Wellness Center.

St. John Fisher University requests that all full-time students maintain health insurance coverage. Athletes and students in the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy may be asked to show proof of insurance coverage.

Before arriving at campus, students should check with their insurance company to see if out-of-network coverage is needed for any health care or dental needs. Students who are in need of health insurance should visit the NY State of Health website or contact the Health and Wellness Center for assistance securing insurance coverage.

Insurance and Health and Wellness Center Charges

Services are provided to students under the student fee that is paid for the semester.

  • Students should bring their Fisher ID card and health insurance card to every visit.
  • Laboratory specimens sent outside of the center for testing may result in a bill from that lab service. St. John Fisher University is not able to incur the cost for these services.
  • The Health and Wellness Center refers students who need treatment or services beyond what we provide to outside specialists or hospitals. Students and/or their caregivers are responsible for all costs incurred outside the Health and Wellness Center. It is important to note that an insurance plan may cover all, part, or none of these costs.
