Medical Services

The team at the Health and Wellness Center provides free and confidential health services and resources to all Fisher students.

Medical Care

As professionals with experience working with college students, the medical care team at the Health and Wellness Center can help to address a wide variety of medical concerns. All students have access to confidential medical care. We will do our best to ensure that your needs are met. Our primary focus is on illness and injury that is non-acute.

Current care providers include a family nurse practitioner, a registered nurse, and a licensed practical nurse.

Our medical services include:

  • Illness visits
  • Sexual health concerns
  • Non-acute injury care
  • PPD placements and reads
  • Bloodwork
  • Community referrals

In addition to the list above, we can provide consultation, link you to community providers, and conduct outreach as needed.

We advise all students to maintain connections with any specialty care. If you have questions about this or would like more information about specialized care in the Greater Rochester Area, please contact our office directly at (585) 385-8280

After-hours care can be obtained at one of the local urgent care centers within the Rochester Area.

Not Feeling Well?

Please remember that if you are experiencing any respiratory illness symptoms that involve a fever of 99 degrees or above, you should isolate rather than attend classes or events.

Seeking prompt medical care or testing may be an important first step in reducing symptoms.

  • If you are an active Fisher student and would like to schedule an illness visit to the Health and Wellness Center, please complete a Medical Appointment Request Form in the patient portal (login required) or call the center at (585) 385-8280. When you arrive for your appointment, we will ask you to mask. Masks are available outside of the center.
  • If you have a local health care provider, you may contact their office to schedule an appointment.
  • If it is after hours, you can seek care through one of the many local urgent care centers or use Rochester Regional Health Express Care.

If you need help with missing classes due to a medical illness, please reach out to the Health and Wellness Center directly.

Staying Healthy

Stay healthy with these simple steps:

  • Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds (this is the most effective way to avoid illness).
  • Wear a mask if you have health concerns.
  • Stay current with your routine doctor's appointments.
