04/02/2025 - Assistant professors from St. John Fisher University’s Wegmans School of Nursing Dr. Desiree’ M. Branson, former president of The Nurse Practitioner Association (NPA), and Dr. Henry Moscicki, NPA President-Elect, are in pursuit of breaking down barriers in support of nurse practitioners in New York State.

03/21/2025 - “Edge of the cliff” is often used as a metaphor for a situation that has suddenly taken a dangerous turn. It suggests uncertainty of some sort, and can lead to success or failure depending on what happens next. For Dr. Rob Rice, a professor and chair of the mental health counseling program in the Wegmans School of Nursing, this metaphor came to life when he found himself on a cliff ledge with his dog, Walter, in 2019.

03/20/2025 - Registration is now open for the 2025 Fisher Showcase, an event that features the creative and scholarly works of University students, faculty, and staff.

03/18/2025 - Dr. Holly Brown, executive director of the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing, will showcase the work of the Institute.

03/13/2025 - This summer, St. John Fisher University will host Cardinal Nurse Camp as well as Pharmacy Camp for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in pursuing a career in nursing or pharmacy. The camps are hosted by the Wegmans School of Nursing and the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.

03/11/2025 - Recently, St. John Fisher University’s Wegmans School of Nursing partnered with Special Olympics New York (SONY) for their Healthy Athlete events, supporting health promotion and wellness initiatives for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

03/05/2025 - The Rochester Business Journal presented Dr. Marilyn Dollinger, DNS FNP RN, emeritus professor at the Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher University, with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2025 Healthcare Hero Awards.

01/30/2025 - St. John Fisher University recently announced the Dean’s List honorees for the Fall 2024 semester, which includes more than 1,400 undergraduate students.

01/29/2025 - This year, the Cavanaugh Dialogues will take on a new format, bringing together faculty members from across campus to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on society.

01/27/2025 - An important part of the curriculum for first-year Fisher nursing students is learn to assess a patient’s nonverbal cues, as well as their verbal ones. They’re learning to read these cues from an unlikely source – avatars in an augmented reality (AR) environment.
